Loudon, N.H. (June 29, 2009)- Michael McDowell finished 15th in the Camping World RV Sales 200 presented by Turtle Wax Saturday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The 15th place finish however, doesn’t show the strength of the field.

“When you come to these companion events, it’s easy to get down on yourself for running 15th. But when you’re battling Clint Bowyer and Greg Biffle all race long for 15th, you don’t feel so bad”, said McDowell.

McDowell hovered around the 15th place all day. Qualifying 16th, McDowell ran a consistent race. Staying on the lead lap and same pit sequence, McDowell focused on battling the racetrack. Picking different lines and working on timing, McDowell improved lap times all race long while the JTG Daugherty Racing crew made slight adjustments. As laps wound down, McDowell stayed status quo in the 15th spot.

“We still continue to grow this program weekly. By running with the Cup regulars, we can continue to use their measuring stick to improve the program as well as the results. Today we had simply, a 15th place car. Next week, I think we will continue to improve and be even better”, said McDowell.

This 15th place finish puts McDowell 11th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship standings, only 30 points from of 10th and 801 points from the lead.
