McDOWELL WELCOMES HOME TROOPS - 04.10.09

Michael McDowell took Thursday to welcome home over 1,500 troops in the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, KY. McDowell signed autographs and talked with troops about their deployment.

“It was humbling to hear the experiences from hard-working men and women that protect our freedom. It makes you really appreciate the opportunity to battle 43 drivers on Saturday,” McDowell said.

McDowell will be battling a bit of a monkey on his back here in Nashville. Two starts in the ARCA RE/MAX Series earned McDowell one pole, but a tire failure and an engine failure resulted in DNFs. McDowell hopes this weekend will result a little differently.

“The team and I are very anxious to try our brand new Triad car this weekend. Our Arrington Toyota Engines have been great and I feel that we have a great shot at a top-five this weekend,” McDowell said.
