COUNTDOWN TO DAYTONA
MCDOWELL, ESR TEST TALLADEGA

TALLADEGA, AL (Jan. 30, 2007) - Michael McDowell and his Eddie Sharp Racing Dodge concluded a two day test, Tuesday at the Talladega Superspeedway in preparation for the season opening ARCA Daytona 200 at the Daytona International Speedway.

"Due to the similar layouts, Talladega gives the ESR team a great platform to experiment and prepare for the season opener in Daytona," said McDowell.

Less than 24 hours after his top 10 finish in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, McDowell strapped into his ARCA RE/MAX Series Dodge for a pair of nine hour days testing and re-testing his primary and backup cars for Daytona.

"It doesn't matter if it's go karts, sports cars or stock cars. It feels good to drive anything, really. I'm a driver, and this is what I love to do," said McDowell.

McDowell, and crew chief Patrick Donahue worked on communication and speed during the test, which translated into positive results.

"I'm very happy with our super speedway package. Patrick and I have clicked well together and I look forward to showing what we've got in Daytona," said McDowell.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series begins Saturday, February 10 at the Daytona International Speedway with the ARCA Daytona 200, live on SPEED.
